The collection Le dernier cerisier has been published by the Éditions Voix d’encre. This bilingual book consists of three poetic sequences in French translation: « The Last Cherry Tree » and « Ever, » originally published in Remembrance of Water & Twenty-Five Trees (Bitter Oleander Press, 2018), and « But it was not yet night, » originally published in The Dark Brightness (Xenos Books, 2017). French translation by Françoise Daviet-Taylor, watercolors by Caroline François-Rubino.
sometimes
in daylight
it is ever going to be night
in your heart
light laced
with black
in whatever brightness
when sunlight warms
with its gentle embers of coal
remember this
every
day
night
the dark warm brightness
