Three poems from John Taylor’s Remembrance of Water & Twenty-Five Trees (Bitter Oleander Press) have been translated into Italian by Marco Morello and published on the website Medium Poesia, along with three paintings, from the original American book, by Caroline François-Rubino. The American poems are also recorded. Here is the first of the three poems, without the painting and without the recording:
The Parasol Pinethat other life
why always another life the parasol pine its lofty limbs or dark-blue night or bright sunlight onto the sheet of paper those pines on Janiculum Hill in the future Mediterranean winds somehow nearly high as clouds so what you seek are clouds nuvole at least some Roman haze hovering nebbia in the imaginary parasol pines another composition of the air and perhaps you would move |
